Expanding on foundational skills, this course delves into advanced outdoor recreation techniques and industry insights. Students tackle complex topics like advanced Leave No Trace practices, intricate navigation, accident prevention, and risk management. The course emphasizes independent research, engaging presentations, and critical exploration of current trends in outdoor recreation. With an emphasis on experiential learning, students deepen their expertise in outdoor skills, environmental stewardship, and leadership. This immersive, outdoor-based curriculum provides hands-on learning in diverse outdoor environments, enhancing skills and understanding for careers in the expanding outdoor recreation field. This course will maintain a hands-on approach, and students can anticipate spending significant time outdoors, further immersing themselves in the learning experience.
