Intro to Aviation & Aerospace
INTRO TO THE SCIENCE OF AVIATION & AEROSPACE
Registration: CT709
Level: College Prep
Grades: 9, 10, 11
Credit: 1.0
This course begins with a look at the history and development of human flight and aerospace industry. The course then takes a close look at modern aircraft and flight principles. Students explore aircraft types, construction materials, and techniques and gain insights into the forces of flight-lift, weight, thrust, and drag-through calculations, experiments and real-world examples. The curriculum covers key elements of aircraft exploration of aerodynamics. Hands-on projects and research assighments deepen technical knowledge, providing a comprehensive understanding of flight mechanics and design that supports further study and career aspirations in aviation. Students can choose to get an elective science credit.
