This introductory course offers a hands-on overview of essential skills for a variety of trades, focusing on safe use of hand and power tools, precision measurement, material properties, and project planning. Students design and create a finished product from raw materials, with past projects including table lamps, stools, and benches. Emphasis is placed on shop safety, professional work ethic, and effective shop management. This foundational course prepares students for further study in construction trades and instills valuable skills for both career pathways and personal projects. OSHA 10 Certification needs to be earned during this course.
