This project-based course immerses students in the fundamentals of metalworking and precision manufacturing. Students learn about a wide range of tools, including drill presses, lathes, knee mills, and plasma cutters, as well as welding processes like MIG, Stick, and TIG. Emphasis on print reading, mathematical problem-solving, and tool maintenance ensures students build critical skills in a safe, industry-standard environment. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to manufacturing's role in everyday life, with a focus on safety, work ethic, and skill development for future careers in machining and fabrication. OSHA 10 Certification is mandatory.
