During the ELO, students will use research to guide their learning. Some of this research will be experiential in nature and some will be more traditional.
Reflection is an important part of the ELO. Students can keep a journal, write a reflective essay, create a blog, create a photo diary or come up with their own reflective idea.
Students will create a product that demonstrates their learning. Oftentimes this product is something that will help the community partner in some way. Examples may include: a library display, a logo, map, bulletin board, pamphlet, script, lesson plan etc.
ELOs culminate in a final presentation where students outline their elo journey. These are a celebration of the learning that has taken place and parents, community partners and school contacts.
